Posted on 01/11/2022

Dear ALC Families,

We are halfway through the 2021-22 school year and, on behalf of the entire ALC staff, we would like to thank parents and guardians for your support through this remote learning period.

When return to In-Person, please make arrangements and review:

-Return of any borrowed learning materials and equipment, including Chromebooks and mobile hotspots with all equipment enclosed, once we have returned to school.

-Reminder that NO parents are to be entering the school at this time.  Ring the bell if you require help.

-Please remind your children of the color and number of your bus route, times, stops etc.  See our transportation tab if you need more information.

-Reminder to re-establish your meeting spots at the end of the day for walkers and end of day pickups.

-Avoid picking up during school day hours when possible to eliminate traffic in and out of the building unnecessarily to avoid disruption to classes and congestion at the office.

-Reminder to always bring your personal items home at the end of the day and anything of importance in case of a quick transition to online learning.

-Reminder that you must connect with the office and teachers to inform of an absence or early pickup/late arrival.  Emailing and copying all involved is the best course.  alcabsence@ocdsb.ca  with reason included.

-Reminder that all children are required to have a proper "fitted" mask and spares in their school bags for wet and dirty ones to be replaced quickly.  They are required to wear on all areas of school property at all times.

-Reminder to students about sanitizing your hands upon entry,

-Reminder to complete screening every morning before sending children to school with the OPH COVID screening tool online. Screening Tool for Schools

***SNOW!
IF there is a Snow Day, please make sure you have signed up for the notification and reminder that all students are to be picked up and dropped off during the regular school hours at the appropriate drop off/pickup locations in the yard.
IF your child is a walker and you choose to keep them home. You MUST contact the school via email to inform us that you are keeping your child at home.  IF your child is a busser and not attending, you do not need to do anything.

Thank you to all our amazing students, parents and staff.
We will get through this together. We look forward to return to school.
