We are excited to see all our returning faces and meet our new children this September.

Here you will find some great information to help remind Parents and Children with transition for the start back to school. School Procedures and Information for all our new students as well to how we operate and communicate with our families.


Attendance information:  EXTREMELY important.   (Absences/Pickups/Late Arrivals/Appointments/Changes to schedules)

Please send us an email and copy teachers for any absences (provide reasons), early pickups/late arrivals the email is [email protected]  Our phone number at school is  613-831-3434 but email is best for these purposes, as we see them first. 

We encourage parents to book appointments outside of school as much as possible to avoid disruption to the classes, schedules and interruption to our teachers whom are trying to instruct.

However sometimes we can't avoid this and it's in our school hours.  When you do need to pickup for an appointment again, just email the absence email and copy teachers.  Once you arrive at the school, you will come to the front door, ring the bell and state your child's name. We will bring your child out to you.  

Drop off/Pick up Procedure:

Drop off in the school year is along the yard fence line between 9-9:15am, pickup at the end of day is 3:40-3:45pm same location.  
Park along the side streets and/or make a meeting spot (for older kids that can walk off property). PLEASE do not park in our school parking lots as well this becomes very large safety concern.  We have student vans and specialized transportation at this time and we cannot have students walking through the parking lots at this time and vehicles blocking our entrance.
**Please don't be later than 3:45pm picking up your children as they can then wander in concern, putting them at a safety risk.

OPH     Covid:  Yes that fisty word is still upon us... 

Covid Screening Tool, this is still actively needed for ALL students and staff to complete before coming to school everyday. Follow the direction of isolation time required and testing.  IF you require tests, please send us an email or call and we provide you with a kit to take home (while supplies available).

If your child is sick, send masks for your child for the remainder of the days after they are feeling well enough to return to school until they are clear of symptoms. Even if it's not covid, this helps eliminate viruses in the school and keeps staff in school too.  

Let's keep everyone healthy as this continues to affect our neighbourhoods and homes.  

Please continue to be as transparent as possible to all your child's friends and such, to avoid any spread of the flu, covid, strep and other viruses that will return to us this fall while many are still unmasked.  While runny nose can be nothing, please follow the directives at the link above.

Personal Belongings at School:

Please provide your children a reusable water bottle at all times for school along with a change of clothes for younger children and water proof boots and weather appropriate outdoor clothing. 
Make sure to label them as these can go missing in a very large school it makes it hard to find them.

Regular Email Updates:

We have a weekly email that goes out from our principal Miss Trish on Friday nights.  Watch for this in your email or junk folder. 

We also upload information here to our website on Monday mornings and other updated information is available on this site from the school board.  Website

MEDIA and TECH Forms:

We ask for you to have the Media and Tech forms filled in for each child at our school, as they can then use our technology in the classroom, this is for educational worksites, research for projects etc.. Media would be sharing a class photo or sharing an event and such within our school families.
Please try to complete by the first week of school.

Updating information for our records:

If you have changed your home information such as cell phone numbers, emergency contacts, home parental status, daycare, new arrangements for pickup and drop off with a friend.  Please inform us so we have this on file and your information is up to date.

MEDICAL Information for Students:

If your child has medication, medical information to share, new diagnosis of any kind that the school should know about, please email us immediately with your information.  We would like to make sure we have everything that is important for the health and well being of your child.  

Medication in office, administered by child or office staff, need to have a form filled out and medication sent to school as soon as possible.  We will not administer random Tylenol/Advil, prescriptions for ears/eyes etc.  without forms filled in.

Late Registrations:

If you have late registration to be done as you have just moved to our catchment, please go on our news page and click on registrations. Please upload documents right away as registrations cannot be completed until we have received them.


Kindergarten Teachers will be reaching out in the return to office week before school starts.  Watch for emails or calls.

Grades 1-8, you should get a message from your teacher before first day of school.  Please reach out if you do not.

Miss Trish will send out an email with any new details regarding starting procedures for first day etc.  Watch for emails.

First Day of School for all Grades JK-8 are confirmed for Tuesday, September 6th School Starts at 9:15, please have walking children to the yard between 9-9:10am so they can find their classmates and teachers.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: This year we are asking families to voluntarily consider supplying some of the supplies their children use at school. In the past, the school has covered the expenses for supplies, and the vast majority of our budget is going to cover these costs. We are hoping to reduce this cost in order to purchase resources and materials for student learning. Purchasing these supplies is voluntary.

The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority wishes to remind you to check the Parent Portal it is now available.

Parents/guardians of children riding the yellow bus can access their transportation information for the upcoming school year.

Reminder that Kindergarten's CANNOT be dismissed from the bus without an adult at the arriving stop.

If you require changes to your transportation or have an inquiry, please complete OSTA’s Transportation Issues Form.

Reminder that if you are NOT putting your child on the bus and you are assigned one, PLEASE fill in the OPT out form (above) to allow another student to get that bus.

In order to stay updated on student transportation, including cancellations/delays, please subscribe to OSTA’s mailing list.  Please subscribe to your bus notifications as well, once you have been assigned bussing.


If your bus is cancelled you do NOT have to inform us that your child is not coming to school.  

IF your child is a walker, you need to contact us if you are choosing to keep child home (ex. snow days), with attendance procedures above.

IF your bus is cancelled due to driver shortage, please be kind. Carpool, share the inconvenience with neighbours and friends and remind them to the pickup and drop off guidelines and please inform teachers and office staff of the arrangements, so we can keep your children safe.

All bussers should be ON the bus for the first day, please don't drive them in.  School bus drivers like to meet and get to know their routes and children from the first day of school.  This provides a safe and structured arrival and departure for your children.

They may change from last year, so make sure your children have this information day 1.  Check daily in your emails for notifications of your bus cancellations as we do not get the updates, Reminder again; SIGN up for their notifications as soon as your bus has been assigned.
