Monday Morning Minutes March 22nd, 2021

Dear ALC Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message. We hope that everyone had a chance to enjoy the beautiful spring weather this weekend.

Daily COVID Student Assessment and monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19

Parents and guardians must complete the Ottawa Public Health (OPH) COVID self-assessment for every student before leaving home each day.

Anyone with symptoms must stay home and follow public health directives about testing.  This step is key to helping keep the virus out of the school.  Please take the time to thoroughly review the screening tool with your child each morning, and follow the directions provided by Ottawa Public Health.

Waterproof boots, indoor shoes, a full water bottle and extra clothes, please.

Our schoolyard is now wet and muddy. We would ask that parents ensure that students have waterproof boots to wear outside, a pair of indoor shoes to wear in the classroom and gym, and an extra pair of socks and pants for your child to change into in the event that they get wet during recess.  Also, depending on the condition of the field first thing in the morning, duty staff may be redirecting Primary students to enter the yard at 9 am along the paved pathway near Crossing Bridge park instead of using the usual Primary entrance along the break in the fence.  Also, as the water fountains remain closed we would ask that parents continue to send a full water bottle to school daily.

Upcoming March ALC Spirit Day

Our last March ALC Spirit Day, Dress to Impress, is scheduled for this Friday. Wear your fancy party dress, favorite tie, etc.
