What a great week we have had at ALC! Our Grade 8 students had a fantastic trip downtown, and were true ambassadors of our school! They all managed to escape the outdoor escape room and get back to the school unscathed! Our Kindergarten Information NIght was a huge succes. A huge thank you to the Kinder Educators that planned and ran the night. We are excited to be welcoming all of our new Ducks next year!

KINDER AND GRADE 8 KINDNESS GARDEN: Our Kinders and Grade 8s collaborated on creating a Kindness Garden over the past couple of weeks. It has been so great to be able to bring students together to foster positive relationships and leadership skills.

LET’S CONNECT PICNIC: Our first school wide event was a fantastic evening! A huge Thank you to Terri-Lyn Fraser and school council for putting it together! It was so nice to see so many families out enjoying the sunshine, pizza and ice cream!

KINDER OPEN HOUSE NEW DATE: We will be having our open house on Thursday June 23, 2022 at 5:30-6:30.

SCHOOL COUNCIL: Our last council meeting of the year is next Wednesday at 7:00. If you would like to join us, please email [email protected].

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Next year we are asking families to voluntarily consider supplying some of the supplies their children use at school. In the past, the school has covered the expenses for supplies, and the vast majority of our budget is going to cover these costs. We are hoping to reduce this cost in order to purchase resources and materials for student learning. Purchasing these supplies is voluntary.

GRADE 8 LEAVING CEREMONY: Tickets will be coming home soon. We are only able to provide 2 tickets per student in order to maintain as much distance as possible. In situations where parents are separated, students will receive an additional ticket for partners of their parents.

REPORT CARDS: Report cards will once again be sent home via secure email. In order to access the report card when the email comes, you will need your child’s OEN. The OEN can be found on previous report cards. If you are not able to locate it, please call the office and ask Wendy or Tina to help you.

Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services: Rideauwood will be offering presentations in August for parents on prevention tips and guidance. The email for more information is [email protected]
